The Austin Underground Film Fest PRESENTS: FOR LOVE & STACIE

Come join us on November 7th, at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30) for a one-night-only encore screening of the Austin production FOR LOVE & STACIE, the perfect film for those times when Cupid’s arrow of Love shoots you through the heart, and then Cupid’s 9mm of Rejection shoots you in the gut.

We’ve all been there. You’ve just found the girl of your dreams. The only problem is, she just dumped your sorry ass. So, what do you do? Make a movie to win her back, of course!

Before he has a chance to think about it too much, struggling filmmaker and Austin native Michael Davis throws himself wholeheartedly into crafting a celluloid valentine for Stacie, his very recent ex-girlfriend. What could go wrong?

Even Michael couldn’t have predicted the unbelievable twists and turns he would capture on his camera in the following days, which would eventually evolve into the feature FOR LOVE & STACIE - at once a courageous, cathartic, hopelessly romantic testament to the lengths to which we will go for love, and a darkly comic, almost-too-honest, painfully familiar odyssey through the kind of misery and psychological debasement that only a loved one is capable of inflicting.
So, if you’ve ever embarrassed yourself over an ex, just be glad there exists no video record of it. You just can’t make this stuff up.

And Stacie, if you see this, Michael says he’s sorry about everything and he hopes that this will make you finally decide to take him back, so please don’t be too mad at him or issue a restraining order because, hey, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Produced by Raymond J. Schlogel and Co-Presented by Underground Planet & Austin Underground Film.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the director.

Tickets are only $8.00 at the door and are purchasable online at the Drafthouse website (select Aug. 29th). Seating is limited, so you might want to purchase tickets in advance and arrive early for good seats. Directions to the theater can be found here. The Drafthouse also has a bar and serves great food, so come for dinner and a film!
